There's nothing quite like working in #SpecialEducation and having your boss tell you that's testing is the only way to see a kids worth. 🙄🙄🙄 Which is a completely false statement.

So I have a question for other ND teachers: some of my kids need to fidget and move and draw and color during class, and I try to provide outlets for that, but sometimes it gets to the point where it doesn’t feel like anyone’s actually attending and/or all of the movement and ambient noise triggers me being overstimulated. It is Friday night. I am off for the next 9 days. Tonight...I play #videogames & watch #supernatural....with a beverage. Tomorrow: homework & volunteering, then more relaxing. At some point I will plan for the last few weeks before holiday break. I'm so grateful for a whole week to debrief from this year so far. #teacher #specialeducation #rest #selfcare #workingstudent

Yesterday I did a day’s work at a primary school as an inclusion teacher. (I’m not trained as an inclusion teacher.) Amazing day. I worked with a blind child and learned a whole lot about ways of relating to the world, Braille, and education resources for people with different abilities. My head is still spinning. This kid was incredible. Their classmates were at turns supportive and blasé (appropriate to the age group). #inclusion #specialEducation #education #abilities
