like, how there are fewer clear distinctions between "fiction" and "nonfiction" than they are taught, and how "metaphors" and "similes" are not exactly different things.

if I'm anything, it's precise about language :) it's sorta my #SpecialInterest you could say.

part of my #ActuallyAutistic #SpecialInterest journey into learning & applying #SelfCompassion has been listening to the fantastic audiobook version of "Looking After Your Autistic Self" by @niamhgarvey , & she talks about the PERMA model of well-being, which can be found here https://positivepsychology.com/perma-model/

with that in mind, one way I'm holding it down during a rough 1st week of #teaching is focusing on Achievement by making micro-lists of tasks that I can check off when I'm done. it helps a lot!

And despite the fact that I ofc know all the little imperfections, I am sooo proud of it! I spent about 35-45 hours on a new leather purse.

Materials all came from my stash except for the two metal bits to connect the strap, they were mostly inherited, gifted, thrifted. Zippers and buckle were directly recycled from old items.
All leather seams were done by hand.

And “Come As You Are” includes worksheets & reflections. Both are v well written

I'm going to pick up my new #shotgun today! I'm a little anxious about it because #gun people are a species of #nerd that I don't interact with much. They are masculinely curt and socially unavailable, but when confronted about their #specialInterest they can rattle off a truly incomprehensible series of numbers and brand names like any other #neurodivergent. I am still fighting with a cold, it hasn't knocked me out completely but I'm definitely feeling unwell! I spent all day yesterday on the couch & I finished my dark green silk #crochet #earrings & I also made a new batch of #reusable #crocheted cotton pads for makeup removal! Crochet was one of the very first techniques I learned at maybe 6 y.o! Still really enjoy it!

I actually love the consent themes concerning droids in #StarWars #SpecialInterest This episode was a little camp in places but I enjoyed it.

Currently in the stage of post- #Springsteen concert where my brain rejects any music that isn't Springsteen music

In other news, I have finished reinforcing my thinning socks with my grandma's old mending wool. I called it "satisfyingly repetitive" when I showed my partner the results. It's been giving me some profound #autisticJoy with added benefit of prolonging those socks's life.
