My son has a special needs assistant in school. That woman became something like a grandmother to him. She's just a lovely person.
She's also part of a program in which she actually picks him up for 40 hours in the Summer. I first was suspicious but it seems to be a program offered to all children who qualify.
As both of his parents are neurodiverse without any other family in the country it's such a great service.

It was enough just fighting the schools but due to autonomy, which is great in some cases, is hazardous for others. There's not enough training for "job coaches", not enough respite, housing, or honesty in any of the above. I can't stand liars, bullies, or ppl that guilt, esp #SpecialNeeds I will be filling a report & meeting with employer.

I did spend time in the studio on Saturday and this is the result. I had a group of special needs adults last year, and came up with an idea that they would paint fabric and then they would design a quilt using their fabrics.
