Today last mission at the games. Conclusion: physically (long days) and mentally challenging! Learning curve: extremely steep! Both in the "technical" use, as well as in dealing with the athletes! Yes, I had prejudices, yes, I revised! The experiences and goose bumps are unique! Many times tears even flowed secretly: from emotion - and embarrassment. Anytime again.

Heute letzter Einsatz bei den Spielen. Fazit: körperlich (lange Tage) und mental herausfordernd! Lernkurve: extrem steil! Sowohl beim „technischen“ Einsatz, wie beim Umgang mit den Athleten! Ja, ich hatte Vorurteile, ja, ich habe revidiert! Die Erlebnisse und Gänsehautmomente sind einzigartig! Vielfach flossen sogar heimlich Tränen: vor Rührung - und Beschämung. Jederzeit wieder.

I wanted to tell you about the "contact" of the athletes with each other: in my opinion it is completely different than with non-disabled people. Of course, everyone is happy about his or her performance - but the competitor is also celebrated, and I mean that exactly that way, when one, i.e. has achieved a new personal best! Politics is not an issue. Supposedly "hostile" nations sit next to each other celebrating in the bus.

Ich wollte noch zum „Umgang“ der SportlerInnen untereinander erzählen: es ist m.E. komplett anders als bei nichtbehinderten Menschen. Natürlich freut sich jeder über seine Leistung - aber es wird auch der Konkurrent gefeiert, und das meine ich genau so, wenn er / sie z.B. eine neue persönliche Bestleistung erreicht hat! Politik ist kein Thema. Angeblich „verfeindete“ Nationen sitzen abends feiernd im Bus nebeneinander.
