The problem I'm finding with Mastodon is that these specific instances, such as Norcal, have very few posts specific to the instance, and many posts about everything else. It seems to defeat the purpose of the specific instance.

@maxkennerly - however, that said, I come from a career in Electron Microscopy and have spent untold hours/years looking at microstructures. I've never seen anything LIKE the COVID virus. Wherever it came from, as far as I can see, it's obviously manufactured.

:has is an unforgiving selector css-tricks.com/has-is-an-unfor is an unforgiving selector"

A little thing happened on the way to publishing the CSS :has() selector to the ol’ Almanac. I had originally described :has() as a “forgiving” selector, the idea being that anything in its argument is evaluated, even if one or more of the items is invalid. See ::scoobydoo in there? That’s totally invalid. A forgiving […]

From the specification:

When comparing different encapsulation contexts, for normal rules the outer context wins. For !important rules the inner context wins. With DOM tree contexts considered nested in shadow-including tree order.

Normal encapsulated declarations can set defaults that are easily overridden by the outer context, while !important encapsulated declarations cannot be overridden by the outer context.

Native tip:

To select all the you can use `element-name` in the global CSS or `:host()` in the template stylesheet. The `:host()` pseudoclass crosses the boundary.

The tip is: In terms of , the global wins.

(Lots of hash tagging b/c no one knows this and I want it to be found. 🤞 that it's correct)

Hashtag USPol is a quick useful one to type in CW that allows others to choose whether to engage when US folks we get going.

Hashtag remote vs hashtag [insert city or region, etc.] Is pretty quick too
