Probably the drivers night vision system had been added to A6M as optional feature:

Equipment features of the #LEOPARD 2 A6M:
Combined driver night vision (thermal imager/low light amplifier) for front and/or rear view (optional)

In 2016 the existing Leopard 2 A6M were upgraded with parts of Leopard 2 A7 program. The A6MA2 version has received the #SPECTUS night vision system for the driver.
