Really good speculative post by Cisco Talos on the possible futures of authentication attacks.

I've been enamored with futures thinking for a long time, along with genres like speculative fiction or fields like speculative design. The US Defense Department itself falls back on speculative fiction with a regular short story contest and by bringing science fiction writers into thought processes.

It's interesting to me that, as an industry, cybersecurity doesn't seem to do this much outside of pretty restrictive tabletop scenarios. I wonder if we'd benefit from more concerted efforts in speculative thinking and dreaming alongside the harder fields involved.
