Boston plans to install speed bumps on all of its residential streets to slow drivers down and encourage them to stay on arterials. My hometown of Portland, Oregon could learn from this.

Yes, traffic on arterials would get worse as speed bumps are phased in, but the congestion would force the Portland area to get serious about providing frequent, reliable, and safe mass transit to all of its neighborhoods.
