@davidzipper The reduction in traffic volumes is likely due to Google Maps. Google Maps likely will not use a 20mph zone as a suggested route and the lack of traffic means that the remaining vehicles will speed. Hence the need for greater enforcement if there is no plan on changing infrastructure.

If cars and trucks did not have odometers that went to 140mph or more there would be less speeding. An odometer that goes about 10mph over the maximum speed limit in the US is sufficient. In NYS the maximum speed limit is 65mph. Driving anything over 65mph should not be possible. The maximum speed limit in the US is 80mph or less. What is 90mph to 140mph for? Its for personal thrills, vehicle sales and giving the finger to the establishment which includes law enforcement.
