I'm fascinated by these types of subject. But it made me wonder. I know that tiem goes more slow the faster you travel through space, stopping even at the speed of light (thank you Flight of the Navigator). But is the reverse also true? If you are pefectly still in space, will time go infinitely fast?

The other day I had two radios going in my house at the same time and noticed something I thought was odd. The old-style OTA radio had a couple of second lag from the Google device streaming the same station. I had assumed it would be the other way around. Silly me. The speed of sound is slower than the speed of light. Duh.

This poll is now closed, so I can now reveal the correct answer. The one thing that ISN'T true about the speed of light is: "Einstein was the first person to measure it." That scientific breakthrough is attributed to Danish Astronomer Ole Roemer (1644–1710). Now, under specific conditions (i.e., in a vacuum/water/glass), the speed of light can be reduced.

Know what’s faster? The time it takes, after you’ve swiped an item at the grocery self-checkout register, for the machine to berate you for not putting it in the bag.
