I watched a Goldeneye TAS recently that features a fun part: James Bond inexplicably grows a third hand (two hands operating his wrist laser, one holding a gun) on the train level (specifically, the part where you have to shoot out the floor panel to escape)

I like to imagine that he didn't actually grow a third hand, but rather wedged the gun into his left armpit and let loose, leaving his other hands free lmao

Helping a friend here: Does anyone know of a good video/audio capture that will work with modern computers (Windows 10/11, OSX) that can accept older #composite video inputs? This might even involve something like a RCA to #HDMI upscaler/converter into a capture device that uses HDMI.

Thankfully, someone answered it for us! According to the commenter below, apparently using the horn extends your hitbox, and the exit to the level is immediately on the other side of the level start; thus, using the horn extends your hitbox over the level exit, allowing you to complete it instantaneously!

I always love neat skips like that in speedrunning lol, especially if they're kinda silly, as in this case :)

Heck yeah, 1:28! I think that pretty much ends my brief #SuperMetroid #Speedrunning story arc. I could potentially shave off another minute or two with some more practice and better luck, but I'm not concerned about my exact time. I just wanted to crack the 1:30 mark.

Just did another #SuperMetroid 100% run. Got 1:31, which is my best time thus far. I had been hesitant to say what my times were, but after looking at the leader boards it seems like 1:31 is actually pretty good. I don't have any ambitions of holding any records or anything, but I'd love to get under 1:30 and I think I could do it if I had a run where I didn't mess up a whole bunch of stuff.

@tess Hah, something very similar happened in #Quake #speedrunning earlier this year: someone flexed some new & sharpened speedrunning techniques to beat the 20+ year old record for E2M6 with about a second. Days later, the original record holder during all those years shows up, improves the record further, and takes back the crown. 👑
