#Writers check your #ShortStory #Publishers sites well.
The blocking #AI craze is going strong.
Yesterday, one market called #SpellCheck an AI and does not want your work if you use spell check. Doesn't every #Author use spell (and grammar) check?
Another claims if they suspect the story is AI, they will block your email, and not even reply or verify.
#Autistic, #Blind, #DeafBlind, cognitively disabled, and people for whom English is a second language will be left forever waiting on a reply.

Why do you want me to replace 'Management' with 'Engagement'?
Scrub that.
Spellcheck,
Stop annoying me. We are not in a relationship. You are incapable of one unless programmed. And I am disturbed at the thought that someone might programme such a thing.
Hum pourquoi j'ai tout les anglais de la terre qui s'affichent dans Firefox. on peut pas les virer et laisser English UK uniquement
A weird thing has happened on #OfficeLibre when #editing some text.
I put the file on a flash drive to transfer to another computer to #print.
So I'm making corrections to the printed copy and checking #spelling and I come across some spelling errors.
One is 'their' spelt as 'theyr' - which is weird because #spellcheck would have picked that up.
Anyway, when I went to the original file to edit and the spelling mistake isn't there. The word was spelt correctly.
Weird, no?

I think that "Ferenheight" was a reasonable guess on my part.

There's a street I sometimes pass and I couldn't bear to live there because of how it's spelt. The legendary King Arthur had a famous sword called Excalibur. I could live on a street called Excalibur. This street is named Excaliber. The word excaliber is a piece of tedious stock-market jargon and I doubt that's what the developer who named the street was thinking about. Sigh. #SpellCheck #MoCo #DCLiving #KingArthur

Dear #Spellcheck
You're at it again. 'Senorita' is not a suitable replacement for 'Noritake.'
What's everyone's favorite alternative to Grammarly? Are there better things out there now that we're living in an age of pervasive AI?
Better UI? Better suggestions? More useful in other ways?
I feel like giving Grammarly $15-30 a month is overkill for what I'm getting.

[Sigh] This version of #LibreOffice is shite.
It's so glitchy then when I do a #spellcheck it shows me an entire sentence - which has no misspelled words in it - and tells me the entire sentence isn't in the dictionary!
I never had any problem with #OpenOffice but when I say that people seem to jump to defend Libre.
But from a user point of view, Libre is a bit shit.

Dear #Spellcheck
I really like your suggestion that I should replace 'Captain America' with 'Chapati America' in all instances. Academic papers should always contain something unexpected. #captainamerica
Dear #Spellcheck
I do not understand you. I may never understand you. How did you get from 'Rumpelstiltskin' to 'Unprotesting'?

I'm looking at #popular #narratives, true, but I wanted mentions of key characters, not minions of key characters. #Charlemagne and Steve Rogers would not be happy to be called #minions.

Dear #Spellcheck
Please play nicely. 'Heretical' is in no way a useful substitute for 'rhetorical.'
Like gremlins, error indicators are diminutive, but can leave you feeling defeated when they rapidly multiply.
Here's how to customize #spellcheck squiggly underlines in #VSCode, with some example images: https://www.ryanpatrickrandall.com/notes/Technology/VS-Code/vs-code-spellcheck-squiggles
(One of the first things I realized when working at UCR's Writing Center, then teaching First-Year Composition, is that too much red ink quickly becomes discouraging!)
First day of the #SpellCheck Symposium, everyone was Edgar to get started... 🤩
i don't understand this spellchecker crusade to add a comma after every instance of "of course." people don't talk like that! if language truly is evolving, that should be the first thing to go. #Grammar #Spellcheck #StopIt
