Just been reminded by someone that today would have been the birthday of the late, great Spike Milligan.

Loved listening to old recordings of the Goon Show when I was young, the absurdist humour appealed to me hugely (friends and I even performed some at school). Soon found his war memoirs, and the Q series. Evolution of British comedy would have been very different without Spike.
