This view across the #Solent is only a few minutes walk from home.

Taken by my husband from the #IsleofWight you can see #Portmouth across the water with the #SpinnakerTower illuminated. The Tower is often lit in varying colours so you never know what to expect each evening!

This old jetty got damaged in a storm and has recently been rebuilt.

#TravelPhotography from #OnThisDay last year, taken as we sailed out of our home port of #Portsmouth aboard Virgin's Valiant Lady #cruise ship towards Belgium. We're looking at the #SpinnakerTower that dominates the waterfront and skyline of our city. It's normally white and at this time was typically lit up in blue and yellow in support of Ukraine but it took on red illumination for our ship's departure.

This is where I live: #Portsmouth as seen about twelve years ago today from the top of Portsdown Hill. That's the #IsleOfWight in the distance, and you can see that Portsmouth is connected to the mainland of #England by a motorway there. Indeed, Portsmouth is the UK's only city on an island. The structure you can see in the centre is the #SpinnakerTower.

My husband took this a couple of hours ago. The moon as it rose beside the #SpinnakerTower in Portsmouth.

It was pretty cold down on Fishbourne Beach on the #IsleofWight where we were standing with the camera and #telephotolens ready.

The moon is only in the right position to photograph this a couple of times a year and it needs to be a virtually cloud free sky, so we had to brave the freezing temperatures! #photography
