I am not a very good spinner so when this is the result of plying two bobbins I consider it remarkable. Especially considering I didn't even halve the top before I began the singles, just spun randomly until I remembered I should really create two bobbins.

I hope the nails are cleaner now and I will proceed with my dew retted hemp stems (I collected them from a bee project for kids when it closed at the end of September). The fibers come off the wood very nicely, and they are not as grey as the winter retted ones.

#Spinning group today.

I'm still working on the same project, but the finish line is in sight. Maybe 2 or 3 more hours of doing the singles and then plying. I have another bobbin filled with singles from the same fiber.

I'll probably do a chain ply, I expect the finished yarn to come out at about heavy fingering weight.

#Fiberuary - a coat made from #handdyed fiber, spun in a mix & match style.

I took six braids that where mainly in the purple-turquoise family, split them in half and then in 1 m pieces, made two equal heaps, grabbed randomly a piece and made a 2-ply yarn from it.

Then turned that into that glorious piece of knitting. It's been a few years, but I still love and wear it.
