I never got into #electronics as a kid, but wish I had. This Christmas I got the brilliant gift of #Spintronics, a game that lets you build steampunk style electrical circuits out of purely mechanical parts.
It has genuinely helped me gain an intuitive understanding of the subject. And it's a lot of fun.

#Spintronics fun: real world placement is starting to be part of the problem set.
I've been testing solutions in the simulator before building it since building can take a bit of time. Placement of the pieces and angles of the chains is starting to matter.
(Spoilers ahead)
For example, this solution works. If you rotate the upper right resistor to show +6V or -6V, then the ammeter (the annoying buzz) turns off. (⚠️ Volume warning in the simulator)

In reality, this angle doesn't work consistently, so I need to reposition the components to actually hold the tension needed.
Still loving these puzzles. Tbh, not totally sure how applicable this is to the real world (similar to how TIS100 is to writing x86 assembly), but this toy is itself a freaking blast.
