It's been great to see this more and more (the screenshots below are only two examples of many). As one of the ghosts in Spiritfarer puts it to Stella at a worker's rally: "Let's eat their dinner and see how they like it." ✊ #SolidarityForever.

Replayed the last half of #Spiritfarer recently, since I hadn't played since all the new updates were released. I love how they laid out more of Stella's story, and yeah, I knew the story, had seen most of it before, DEFINITELY still had a cry about it. A couple, if I'm honest. It's a very good game, if you like cozy cute games that will make you cry. (That's basically my brand at this point.)

At its base level, Spiritfarer is a task management game - but it hits harder than just that. It's designed to slow players down, take in and appreciate in-game experiences and relationships, and come to terms with mortality and saying goodbye; game about making peace with a life, its glory and messes.

It's a heavy-hitter, but in a gentle and somehow comforting way, that has brought more tears to my eyes than any other recent piece of media I've encountered.

So, I gotta say, I'm impressed with #Netflix games. I looked up the #Exodus privact reports, and their games utilize minimal permissions and only contain the code signature of ONE known tracker (Bugsnag) for crash reporting.

I do not know what kind of analytics data the app itself collects, nor do I know what Bugsnag's crash reports contain; BUT, all things considered, this is significantly better than like... any other mobile game publisher in existence?! No Facebook Analytics, no Firebase (or Google anything), no AppsFlyer--nothing but Bugsnag.

So that means, Netflix is buying the rights to publish killer #indiegames (like #TMNTShreddersRevenge, #IntoTheBreach, #Oxenfree, #Moonlighter, #SpiritFarer, etc.) on an open-ish mobile platform, rebalanancing existing mobile games like #CatsAndSoup to remove P2W mechanics, and doing all of this for no extra charge, with no ads, no mtx, and almost reasonable privacy levels. Wtf. That's cool.

This doesn't make up for cancelling Santa Clarita Diet, but it's cool.
