@Wiswell I feel like an alternate solution to this problem might just be to schedule work so as not to require commuting before dawn? But that would require a society-wide rethink of the relationship of labor to the clock. Like, a whole society agreeing that, as the sun rises later in the winter, winter office/store hours begin later too? And not make the change by one whole hour in one fell swoop on one day in late fall, but gradually over the course of weeks?

@shannonmattern Is *thick-time* a thing, an object of measure, a utilizable frame? Could it be applied to these structures of time embrasure, of future description, mutations, events and transmutations? I see you as an innovator in the juggling of temporalities, of time-presence consilience. Spitballing. Thanks!

What if we wrote instance rules like "We strongly discourage you not to make reply guy-ish replies on the Fediverse. If you choose to do so anyway, do not report any of the responses you receive"?
@ChrisPirillo or... and I'm just #spitballing here... you COULD contribute one of those amounts to your local/home #Mastodon instance to mitigate the impact of the great #TwitterMigration ... 😄

It'd be really cool if someone created a #bot that tooted the top 10 trending #hastags of the instance you're in. Perhaps on the hour?
I know the idea is a familiar one, but I'm always interested in what's currently being discussed and debated. This would be something users could then choose to follow or not.
Just a thought 👍

Idly thinking out loud… The original purpose of ‘verifciation’ on Twitter / FB was to prevent imposters, not to infer status.
Given we don’t have a central trusted entity to do verification on Mastodon, perhaps users could upload a video of them reading a random phase generated by the server and saying their username (similar to mobile banking apps KYC checks).
That would limit the time to restrict fakery and let other users decide on the veracity.
