I wanted to see who would come out on top between two Allied legends: the Supermarine Spitfire IXc and the North American P-51D Mustang.

Pretty savage dogfight - and very close! If there's a lesson here, it's definitely "lose sight, lose the fight!"

Beautiful external footage of the Spitfire in this video, definitely worth watching all the way through.

We regularly get Spitfires flying round my area, They fly down to the BBM at Capel-le-Ferne. Out in the garden and for the first time in a while one just flew right over my garden at about 1000ft, the sound of a Merlin at full civil chat brought me out in goose bumps. #Spitfire

You know that infamous moment with the inflatable arch coming down on the road on top of Adam Yates?

Well today at the #GranFondo & #MedioFondo, just (and no more) past the finish line an ambulance got wedged under the camera device (not sure precisely what it is) platform above the road!

Fortunately nobody was finishing, it was between groups of finishers & they got lucky there was time to clear it.

I only got a photo as there was a #Spitfire plane passing at the moment of impact. #Cycling

#SpitFire audio plugins are amazing, especially those made in collaboration with the BBC Orchestra.

I've used them on several on my songs, and today I decided that I needed to get new additions to my library.

Once you've paid them your hard earned money they'll send you a download link via email, or the order will appear in your profile so you can download the files. Right?

Right?

Well, it's 2023, web-based technologies took over the world a while ago, and, believe it or not, there are still companies that require you to install some Windows-only .exe in order to download your files - rock those exe's like it's 1999!

Earlier I used to be able to run their crappy application on Wine, but it no longer seems to work on recent versions. And I definitely don't want to dip my toes into debugging Wine again.

So here I am, on my way to spin off a Windows 11 VM just to be able to get a pair of freaking download links.

Those who require you to double click a Windows exe in order to access their services should be outcast from the industry.

Classic WW2 dogfight between two well-rounded fighters. The Spitfire isn't actually my favourite plane to fly, but there's no denying 1) how immensely capable it is and 2) how staggeringly beautiful it is.

Last Sunday (111th) we visited the RAF #Cosford #Airshow. It was hot! But very enjoyable. Great displays on show, especially by the Royal Jordanian Flying Display Team,, et al. Both my son and I were particularly impressed by the Eurofighter (Typhoon) display and the P-51 Mustang, later on.
