#MarioKart8 turned 9 today (or yesterday in Japan). I'd like to devote this post to bringing up the issue that the online services for this #WiiU classic have been made unavailable by #Nintendo for a total of 88 days at this point.

Nintendo, I'm begging you, if you're not going to bring the online services back up for #MK8 and #Splatoon1, please just let us know.

Wait, is it Splatoon 1's 8th anniversary too? So errr yeah, it's a bit of an issue.

#Nintendo takes down game servers impacted by hack

Nintendo has taken down the #WiiU Servers for #MarioKart8 and #Splatoon1. Officially for temporary Network maintenance, but it's likely they are (finally) looking into the impact of the #ENLBufferPwn, an unpatched exploit on #3DS / #Wii that allows attackers to take remote control of your console simply by joining the same online game as you.

The latest financial results from Nintendo are in, and well... Splatoon 3 hasn't sold as well as 2 yet, coming at just 10 million sales, when 2 is sitting around 12 or 13 million from memory. It has outsold the original by 2x though, since that stands at 4.95 million, and that will probably be the final figure for that given the eShop closure on March 27th.
