back to evening dev with a nice little problem: how to create a tunnel made of undeformed objects. majority of the roads examples using splines allows a certain distortion of the mesh. this one is trying it's best to avoid overlaps of parts.
next steps: filling the gaps if possible (rotations will make it a lot harder to solve) & animation ;)

Playing with b-splines for aircraft wing design in OpenSCAD, and once again blown away by the beauty of doing CAD with code.
I tried modelling this shape with n-degree polynomials for quite some time, without success.
With splines it was a matter of minutes after finding a suitable library (https://github.com/JustinSDK/dotSCAD)
Now I am tempted to redo my (working) Ho 229 design with this approach...

As a game developer and tech artist I use splines on a daily basis on multiple scenarios, and even having worked with it for over 30 years there are concepts that elude me I'm going to be watching this again and again.
I wonder if is possible to create a cool modulation effect on a periodic spline by modulating the y-value of some nodes in real-time 🤓
