One strategy I've found for making it easier/less exhausting to put away clean washing - dedicated clean-washing metal laundry baskets on legs inside my wardrobe, so I can just dump clean clothes/clean sheets straight inside. No sorting, no folding, no lifting lids. The fact that they are on legs saves me having to bend/stoop, and also keeps them clear of any dust on the floor. I use Brabantia Bo Laundry Bin 60 litre.

If you have chronic pain, or skin issues, and you find that ordinary bed sheets scratch your skin or dig into you and make your muscle pain worse, you might want to try these sheets I found recently. They're made from a soft stretchy tshirt fabric (cotton knit) and are much more comfortable than normal sheets. Also, because they stretch, they are easier to put on the bed if you have hand/wrist pain than normal sheets.

I was not paid in any way to do this post.

This is a New Zealand site, so be aware that prices will be lower if you are paying in Australian dollars or US dollars.

If you have a medication that you take at random times of day on an as-needed basis where you need to avoid accidentally taking dose #2 too close to dose #1, or need to avoid accidentally taking more than the safe amount in 24 hours - Paracetamol/acetaminophen/Tylenol is a common example - you can send yourself an SMS/text message on your phone so that you can easily see when your last dose was, and how many doses you have had in 24 hours.

Recently I learned that if you struggle with filling your cat's water dish at the sink and then carrying it, either due to hand/wrist pain or coordination issues (spilling water everywhere on the floor as you carry it), you can just fill a 1 Litre plastic water bottle at the tap, and pour the water from the plastic water bottle into the bowl when the bowl is sitting on the ground.

(You will still need to run the bowl through the dishwasher regularly to clean it.)

Oh btw for fellow spoonies in the U.S. - these pouch meals (and others like them) are fantastic for the days where you have no energy to prepare a meal and don't even want to get a pot/pan dirty. You microwave them in the pouch so you don't even need a bowl! These ones are all under $3, EBT-eligible, and available on Walmart's website if you need to avoid risking covid

Note to self: if you’ve used a brace in the last year, pack that sumvabitch when you travel. Also, I love confirmation I’m not weird for having a brace box at the house. (Yeah I probably have hyper mobility to some degree)
