A recent shot for . A house on my walking route lost two of their beautiful old trees to a bug infestation.

They've turned the stumps into planters. It seems the mushies have taken notice as well.

I felt so guilty fobbing you all off with a Slime Mould for in my last post, so I've decided to post another photo, but at least this time I'm pretty sure what it is as I had an expert ID it for me.

This is one of the 50+ species in the genus Arcyria. It is impossible to identify as an individual species without use of microscopy and observation as it evolves.

I think we're looking at Tubifera ferruginosa, commonly known as Red Raspberry Slime Mold.

Small is Beautiful

This 4mm diameter saprophytic cup fungi is growing on rotting wood. It is difficult to identify as separate species without use of microscopy as there are over 100 Peziza species to choose from.
