It's a hell of a summer of sport. The climbing world cup is on this week along with everything else.
Today was the Women's boulder final. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it (Maybe tomorrow).

What I will say though is Shauna Coxsey is a natural broadcaster. She's clearly put a lot of thought into her contributions and is making my favourite sport even more watchable.

Watched the #StudioBlocMasters2023 semis earlier and now on the finals. Some really difficult #SportClimbing problems on show.
Women's boulder two especially weird: one flash, one top, but four not even a zone.

Watching the #PlywoodMasters #SportClimbing competition from a few days ago and amazed that the competitors are managing to get zones, let alone tops, the problems are just crazy hard.
Congrats to the climbers, boos to the route setters!

Topping out this overhang was so much fun and felt rewarding. I'm resting my arms before climbing out the overhang.

Just found this old picture of me from my mid-twenties. I really loved to climb. It was difficult to let go of.

It looks as though I'm standing on nothing and really I'm not. I'm lead climbing a 5.8 route, easy for climbers, to set up the rope for my friends.

This was taken at Jackson Falls in Shawnee National Forest, IL. This is a fun place to climb because the routes are short but often of some increased difficulty because of it.

I will always remember this day because I took a monster swinger when I was trying to clip into the anchor. I was very above the bolt, in a sort of layback and my hand exploded off the hold as I was trying to clip in. My belayer said it looked like a movie. Watched a recent #SportClimbing boulder competition from Salt Lake City. Unsurprised by winner but she made things difficult en route. Sad that person who was top going into the final then came last once there.

Can anyone think of a good reason not to let a climbing helmet serve as a bicycle helmet? The only one I can think of is that I am more likely to loose it. On the other hand there are good economic and minimalist reasons to have one thing instead of two #climbing #sportclimbing #cycling #helmet
