Watching the “Welcome to Wrexham” doc. The McElhenney & Reynolds story is compelling (and amusing—Ted Lasso comparisons hard to avoid), but I am impressed most by its consistent focus on the Wrexham fan community and its history. It’s unusual to see such a serious exploration of the role of the 12th man and of sport spectatorship in daily life.

I am continually surprised at the varieties of fan display. I've seen mimicry, videos, shrines, tattoos, cheers, etc. But this cornfield is impressive.

Where and meet.

When I was at the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand, I met some Argentinian rugby & football fans at the South Africa vs match at North Harbour Stadium (). They were sitting in front of me. One of them asked to swap my Samoa scarf for his Lionel Messi football jersey he had with him. And that's how I came to own a Lionel Messi Argentina jersey (white & blue stripes).
