I do like #Spoutible as a platform, but academics really aren't there. I could see myself continuing to use it for fun but it doesn't seem to be progressing beyond that.

@box464 I have been using #Spoutible for a while and have been enjoying it. I love using #Mastodon as well. i believe the future is some hybrid of the 2. The other platforms mentioned here are too short sided. Can’t just mimic Twitter and expect to fill the void. Communities need cultivation.

The iOS app has been released.

@BlackAzizAnansi that was the plan. To disrupt organizing. But we could try to move to #Spoutible. A Black-owned alternative. It has all Twitter had except for trolls. It's very good. I am experimenting with Mastodon and Spoutible. Different experiences. But if people moved to Spoutible we could recreate what we had on Twitter without the nastiness.

#Facebook and #Instagram I only really post when I've a life event

Don't care for commenting or interacting on pages groups or news articles which are usually an online coliseum of verbal attacks

I was an early adopter on #Spoutible and still enjoy it. However, I now realize that their lack of #federation will prevent them reaching what Teri Kanefield calls the "network effect". Spoutible is the best of the "walled garden" options, but limiting their user base like that will be their undoing.
