Go to the #junkyard and buy some old leaf #springs out of the rear suspension of a rusted-out, totaled pickup truck, and take those back with you. Any weapons maker or armourer a few hundred years ago would be amazed by the consistent quality and impressive characteristics of what today is cheap, uninteresting spring steel.

There’s a point where the Little Colorado branches in, its headwaters travel through Havasupi Falls, and it’s a very milky blue color from the calcium carbonate it picks up. There are TONS of #mineral #springs throughout #Germany, one city park I was in has something like 40 distinct mineral springs (maybe more?), and some contribute colors in addition to taste.
