Just heard that I will be on #Springwatch tonight, talking about beetles and an art project I've been helping out with. It was filmed a few weeks ago, but will be shown on tonight's episode. For my non-UK followers, Springwatch is a popular #wildlife TV show made by the BBC. Not about Robins for once, but Ribin was sat in the tree next to me during the filming and entertaining the crew between takes.

This bluetit nest started with 7 eggs. 5 hatched but the number soon dropped to just 3 chicks. However the remaining ones now all look strong and close enough to fledge very soon. #Springwatch #BBCSpringWatch

Three of the Beakers have flown the nest! It might be more by the time you read this. I went outside and saw a Great Tit hopping around the tree for a while, before flying (slightly unsteadily) off to a bush where his Mum was calling. Well done Beakers!

So this morning’s #DogWalk was a little different; it appears it’s now summer, as it’s suddenly hot and sunny here today. We’ve still got muddy puddles that reach halfway up my wellies, but it looks like they should be drying up soon. In #SpringWatch news, we saw a cuckoo fly between tree tops while persistent calling. We also heard a nightingale in fine voice going for it in a hedgerow As we passed by. Lots of different butterflies on the wing too. #Cuckoo #Nightingale
