How in the world is #sqlserver2022 running in a container using Rosetta 2 faster than the native #azuresqledge container?

Running heavily I/O bound processes, dropping CCI indexes and recreating clustered indexes using page compression, against 62 tables with millions of records.

#sqlserver2022 processed the workload in 54:58
#azuresqledge processed the wordload in 1:17:09

Docker running on 14" M1 Max MacBook Pro (2TB/32GB/10CPU/32GPU)
