We are lucky to have Diego (@dalonsoa) collaborating once more with us at the
#SRUKCERUBlog! This time, he talks about his personal experience as an #SRUKCERU volunteer since he joined the Society in... 2016! It is definitely a post worth reading for anyone who has ever wholeheartedly volunteered to be a very active member of a scientific society.

After that, Luis showed us around the #entomology lab and explained how staff, students, and volunteers go around the many specimens and contribute to their #taxonomical classification.

As a curiosity, he showed us a Lego-based tool that they use to image specimens!

We all had a great time and cannot wait for the next #SRUKCERU event! Thank you everyone who joined us and we hope you had a great time :) (2/2)

Yesterday, @LMolinerCachazo (Twitter) led a visit at the #NHMLondon as part of an #SRUKCERU activity.

We had the opportunity to meet Dr Michael Geiser, #Coleoptera curator, who was a pleasure listening to and learning from! We were all amazed by how big the collection of the most species-rich group index is -- but only ~10% of the species are known!

Dr Geiser showed us some of the shiniest, smallest, and largest specimens; we even saw some of the beetles collected by Darwin and Wallace! (1/n)

@dalonsoa I have just heard this morning about it!😱 I also need some motivation to learn it... Should we set some goals? E.g. Organising another #SRUKCERU workshop? 😛
