Hey dear !

I've got a question regarding and (salted sha1). In fact, I cannot find anything other about SSHA than "it's pure SHA1, but salted".

Is SSHA as used in OpenLDAP safe to use in 2023? Can you give me some details on the internal mechanics? Should I run as far as I can, if SSHA is used?

Thank you.

Could you give me some advice (and sources!) towards ? Is (seeded ) in any way still a valid scheme in 2023? I see only "SHA-1" and then I'm quitting.

Is there any way to somehow see SSHA as acceptable nowadays or should I enforce use of crypt/sha-512 "$6$%.16s"?
