The reports that 'growth' in the UK has returned with a 0.2% expansion in GDP in April is all very well but it merely reverses the previous months contraction, and frankly these figures are so small we might as well agree we are in a period of #stagflation!
Anyone thinking todays #GDP figures was anything other than a damp squib needs to examine this chart:
we're still not at GDP levels before #Covid, nor is the 'recovery' of GDP even on a similar trajectory as it was pre-2020!

if the US cuts government spending like the GOP & #CorpoDems want, thats it for this economy pretending it isnt in recession/decline. Same as Germany above cutting 4.9% was the tipping point for them.

- NO. We do not have a 3.5% unemployment rate.
- NO. Layoffs are not relegated to Big Tech and Silicon Valley.
- NO. There are not 2 legit open jobs for every 1 unemployed person.
- NO. The job market will not save the broader economy.
