It's a beautiful example of bridge-building: VelocityConf was an essential component of forming our "guild" of #WebPerf practitioners. Granted, the community might have formed without it, but it would have evolved differently and maybe not as fast and coherent.

Now that the community exists, it's not important anymore that there once was that particular bridge. There are other bridges now. #standingOnTheShouldersOfGiants

But seriously, I agree with you. We come a (long) way with pathophysiological pathways. We can build on that with a better understanding of biomarkers, phenotypes, etc
