First toot from me. Just to introduce myself briefly, live & work in South Wales for NHS. The kids have fledged, time now for simple pleasures of time together, gardening and delivering on childhood hobbies not achieved - model railway & building airfix kits. Tried to be an archaeologist once - dead keen on #StandingStonesSunday once I can use the iPhone. Oh yes, the toot - loving the new Dr Who look for Ncuti Gatwa announced today. Patrick Troughton was my 1st doctor, love the throwback.

Loving the #StandingStonesSunday hashtag. In case you hadn’t noticed. Now, if someone could point me to the main fungus & mushroom hashtags please? My feed needs more mycelium.

I'm back for #StandingStonesSunday and its three stones from Avebury. The middle stone reminds me of a rabbit from this angle but I think its the one more commonly seen as a horse though. I had a magical day out at Avebury about 6 years ago with my friend Tess, so it's lovely to share this picture and be reminded of that day. It was the first time we'd met in person since we were 15! #standingStones #StandingStoneSunday

@bmay that is the most dystopian thing that I didn't know about. A dolmen. That's a block of flats. #StandingStonesSunday
Who would experience the quiet magnificence of #StandingStonesSunday on the other place? Making a great change from abuse spouting troll accounts
#StandingStonesSunday seems to be a thing on Mastodon.
So here’s my contribution: the stone circle at Duddo in north #Northumberland, not far from the banks of the Tweed.

Wasn't exactly standing when found, but worth sharing on this #StandingStonesSunday - an enigmatic stela form early Scythian site Tunnug 1 in Tuva. There are 4 of them now. We call them "sad smile guys" and no analogies were found up to now #archaeology #3D model is on Sketchfab: https://skfb.ly/oAyVv

The stones from a different angle to last weeks post.
#StandingStonesSunday - maybe not the most impressive stone, but it was important enough to the village at the end of Inis Mór (I'm told it may have been a navigational aid to fishers in the fog coming around Straw Island)
