A lot of language about #gender and being #trans is rooted in ideas you might say belong to post-structuralist, continental, leftist, “relativist” or “perspectivist” #philosophy.

These are the ideas such as “you are who you identify as”, or the #feminist so-called standpoint #epistemology (or #standpointism) saying that someone from a marginalised group will always have special insights that no one from outside of that group could ever reach. These ideas are sometimes also #essentialist.
