Also all too real: #Shatner claiming the prefix "#cis" is a #slur meant to demean him, and refuses to accept any other explanation.

Has anyone ever noticed how weird it is that no one on #Starfleet carries anything in their pockets in #STTOS (excluding the movies), #TNG, #DS9, or #STVoyager? On missions they get a phaser and a tricorder and that's it? WTF is up with that?

How many episodes would have easily been solved if they were just slightly prepared? I get it's not military so they don’t have side arms but what about a flashlight? A multitool? Maybe a first aid kit when they head down to the planet?

Why isn't anyone on the bridge armed? What about engineering? The two points where someone could literally get in and either destroy or take over the ship -- and nobody is ever armed.

It's like the only standard equipment they get is the combadge and uniform. Like working at McDonalds, here's your name tag and a weird polo shirt and you're good to go. Go save the universe.

... Then there's Torres who, again, doesn't really prove herself before she's promoted to head of engineering. Her promotion mostly comes form Chatokay's recommendation, but they're not even in #Starfleet!

I'd much prefer to see Torres have to fight for her position over a few episodes.

But it just seems foolish that a captain would promote people so easily.

But this has happened before. In #TNG there was that time traveller stealing stuff and the crew just trusted him, no questions.

I'm the weird person who doesn't care for #StarTrek DS9.

The episodic, monster of the week of TOS and TNG were more appealing.

I realize after watching the latest #StrangeNewWorlds that the episodes model is also about exploration. The serial DS9 and others seem to require a villain.

#Starfleet is all about racism against Klingons. Every show seems to have the "I hate Klingons even though I know I shouldn't" character.

Maybe that's my beef with serial Trek.
