Been rewatching #Stargate due to it being decent comfort TV and what a weird time capsule of Clinton/Bush neoliberalism it is. The characters are amazing but then they kind of just wind their way through a series of nested sci-fi stock plots. It’s amazing and there’s nothing like it.

Fun fact: the original actress who played Dr Weir in season 7 of #Stargate: SG-1 was fired and replaced in season 8 and Atlantis because she went to #BurningMan while she was supposed to work on the show but told the producers she needs to take leave for an urgent family matter. The producers weren’t very happy when they inevitably found out.

The episode or Daker interactions in the above Holby City clips are also worth a check if you ever liked Osiris from #StargateSG1. #AnnaLouisePlowman's IMDB now making me learn she was also in Your Honor, The Witcher + Black Sails. Geek creds.

Another one that is great and not #StarTrek is #Babylon5. It's not really episodic though but it's super interesting

I did try #Discovery but it really didn't click with me. Not enough social issues I guess lol

Once again, 2 me showing an innocent postal worker, a heroic teacher, and a nerdy kid getting killed in service of a pointless exercise in playing with the audience’s hope of figuring something out when u know you’re not going to reveal anything is just a #dickmove. SO opposite 2 #allstartrek or #Farscape or #Supernatural or #Kolchack, frankly. Even #Stargate SG-1 is better than #XFiles, IMO. Wretched show 😒

They do a great job of keeping it tied together over so many seasons, and keeping episodic and story arc content mixed together

Even if it doesn’t have a lot of the deep/epic aspects of other sci-fi
