@jmerchen Hard to tell. #DnD5e has various elaborate formulas to generate monsters of a particular CR, no?

While #StargateRPG has CRs for all its baddies, there's not really an indication of how they're calculated.

The book says 1 baddie of the same CR as a 3–5 PC party. That seems...wrong?

Anyway, I wouldn't base how to constitute enemies for my #TTRPG campaigns by CR in either system.

I'm thinking about putting together “terrain cards" for #StargateRPG #TTRPG.

Are there sort of cartoony, representative pictures of the different kinds of terrains out there — cliff, swamps, plains, mountains, river, etc.? I don't mean map tiles, I mean like what you'd put on a trading card if the cards were, well, terrain.

Still riding the high from my weekend #StargateRPG session, where the party succeeded at the mission within the allotted time, and everyone seemed to have fun.

I've been struggling a bit designing and running Stargate adventures that work within the amount of time my group can spend each month.

It's a shift from the more drawn-out style of #DnD #TTRPG, where single adventures can span many sessions, and the logic of what's going on isn't necessarily “TV-simple”.

I get the Discord fatigue, but for me, for systems like #StarWarRPG, #GenesysRPG, #StargateRPG, and #MothershipRPG, finding the official (or unofficial) One True Discord has helped me find people to play with, because it concentrates the small number of people who want to play *that* game in one place.

Has to be a big enough system to even have its own Discord, I suppose.

Like, it took me a while to realize, while SG-1 and its fellow TV shows were hampered by limited budgets and cheap CGI, *I* can set my episodes of #StargateRPG #TTRPG on whatever fantastical planets I want, with aliens that don't have to be regular people with a bit of makeups and prosthetics.

My next #StargateRPG #TTRPG episode for my party is going to be on a dinosaur planet, and I'm living my best life.

(They might want to practice their running, though.)

I played #DnD as a kid, then put it away as "childish things". Guess I'm regressing to childhood, because I've been gradually getting back into it more and more as an adult, almost 10 years now.

Just as I dove head-first into #CriticalRole and #Dimension20, I started becoming less enamored of #DnD, and am currently looking into #GenesysRPG and other games, including #StargateRPG.

Looking to both run and get in to more games. See you there!
