I love that each generation of #StarTrek ship mirrors the technology of the day. Nichelle Nichols often said that Star Trek was the first show that allowed us to see ourselves in a better future.

It may or may not be intentional, but seeing our own technology as part of that future makes it feel a little more “real” and attainable.

Hmm. Seit ich Star Trek Discovery (das mit Michael Burnam) gesehen habe, erinnern mich immer mehr Intros an dessen Intro. Zuletzt Foundation und jetzt For All Mankind. Kupfern jetzt alle davon ab oder ist das allgemein die Art, wie heute Intros aussehen? Die part ist schon extreeem ähnlich. Inklusive der Musik.

@punkonbus1701 I've been worried that #StarTrekLowerDecks will be canceled soon. I've seen a great deal of articles about streaming channels focusing on canceling many shows or removing them. We have seen this #StarTrekProdigy and #StarTrekDiscovery. I am expecting Lower Decks to be canceled next and I fear we will only be left with #StarTrekSNW for a while until it runs its course. I fear we will then be left with no new #StarTrek, despite what they said about "new Trek year round."

There are elements of “The Galileo Seven” that conjure up #StarTrekDiscovery.

I wrote something purely for enjoyment!

It's a story called 'Invisible String Theory' and is about Paul Stamets taking his first flight through the mycelial network and encountering memories of the past and the future...

All of them (#StarTrekDiscovery, #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds, #StarTrekPicard) are fantastic with good, modern writing, high production values, and a wonderful cast. Whether you're an old fan or just like good stories, there's something here for you.

#StarTrekDiscovery kind of reminds me of when I used to mix my Stompers with my Tonka trucks to play: yeah, we can all hang out. But everybody knows the one weird looking truck doesn't actually belong.

Finishing #StarTrekDiscovery. The problem isn't that the show is too dark. It's just that the seasons are too long. It either needs to be lighter or shorter.

I’m not even sure it makes complete sense when going from impulse to warp, but “Let’s Fly” gives me goosebumps.

I do have a soft spot for “Make It So”. And Pike’s “Hit It” affects me in a different way 😅.

Encountered some #fungi during our walk at #Kirroughtree yesterday, and explained to our 7yo about the #mycorrhizal network. Looking for a textbook on the subject, I came across the name Paul Stamets, which, having watched #startrekdiscovery, struck me as just too much of a coincidence. Seems the contemporary expert influenced the whole #sporedrive plotline, and the Lt Cmdr was named after him in tribute! Hence the #MerlinSheldrake book I saw in #wigtown today referencing both!

So I finished the #StarTrekDiscovery book "Somewhere to Belong" and--it's a solid book, but the characterization of Paul, Hugh, and Adira's relationship felt weird and off. Which, since that's my favorite part of the show, didn't really work for me. :(

I just finished #startrekdiscovery season 4, and while at one point I knew who they cast as the United Earth President, I forgot. When she walked on scene at the end of finale, it was quite a gut punch and I started bawling. Really well done.

With the next season pf #StarTrekDiscovery being it's last, I wonder how they will have it lead to the #ShortTreks episode "Calypso"?
