I finally decided to get into the hell that is #StarTrekFleetCommand

We're told as well that #StarTrekFleetCommand allows the player to recruit legendary Trek characters from the films and shows to crew your starships.

And maybe that's of interest to some fans, but personally I'd rather a Trek game that lets me tell my own Trek stories. Build and name my own ship, create (or at least generate) new characters to develop and follow on their adventures. The characters we know from TV already have their own stories.

Which, honestly, I never really thought was the point of #StarTrek. It never used to be. Granted, there have been conflicts shown in Trek shows and movies. The #Klingon and #Romulan wars; the Dominion war; #TheBorg...

But the Fed didn't ever set out to "exterminate" its opponents. The UFP fights when it has to. And it fights until the threat is neutralised. Not to the point of extermination.
