To be fair, I’m not quite as down on the “priest in the parish” model as our speaker (Graham Archer), and I think there is a benefit to distinctive witness in distinct places and in having opportunities to lead according to one’s gifts. But an unwillingness to build connections and collaboration across former parish bounds would be catastrophic to the church.
