A regular reminder that "extreme bill introduced in state legislature" isn't really a story. A lot of things get filed, and a lot of them are posturing and attention bait, so there's little value, and potential harm, in covering them at filing. The ones that get out of committee - and plenty of terrible bills will this year - deserve the attention. Otherwise, it feels more like outrage for clicks than coverage for a safer, more informed public. #localnews #vaguebooking #stateleg

Very interesting development in the Alaska Senate where 9 Democrats and 8 Republicans have joined to form a bipartisan governing coalition.

This leaves the just 3 Republicans (including the current Majority Leader) on the outside.
