Ich bin seit 2008, oft mit eigenen Instanzen, im #Fediverse.

Zuerst auf #Identica und #StatusNet, bis heute mit #Mastodon und #Firefish.

Bei meiner Bewertung zählen dabei die Nutzerfreundlichkeit, auch ob auf der Plattform zeitgemäße Neuerung integriert wurden, und nicht zuletzt natürlich auch die Möglichkeit, die Oberfläche für mich anzupassen.

There’s a lot of technobabble around the issue of #threads. I don’t think the solution to the issues that arises with #meta.s entry is technical. Instead, people should focus on the #socialResistance. The #community and social bonds formed on here is the important part, not #activitypub or #mastodon. A community can change protocol. There are instances here with roots in #statusnet. By all means, defederate but also join a small instance, know your neighbors. Take part. Govern collectively

just came across this post https://lemmy.ml/post/724862 that explains you can start new #Lemmy threads by !mentioning the community from a #Friendica account. This use of ! for fediverse groups goes back in the #StatusNet / #GNUsocial days and its cool to see it is still around

@verrukkelijke15 #mastodon server is zo ongeveer de enige die ik (nog) niet draai. #statusnet, #gnusocial, #pumpio en #gotosocial servers zijn allemaal actief (geweest).

Nowadays, #Mastodon newbies think that Mastodon = mastodon.social.

Back then, #StatusNet newbies thought that StatusNet = identi.ca to the point where the entire project was often falsely referred to as identi.ca.

@dasaweb Allerdings. Ich hatte sogar einige Zeit lang eine #StatusNet-Instanz laufen.

Holy cow, I've just been reminded that I actually had an account on #identica back in the day. No idea when or how I signed up for it. I probably did it in my dreams. I might try and log on again, just for kicks.

@jags I am getting old. I remember Pownce, There have been so many attempts... #identica and #statusnet come to mind.

Last time I tried to setup a federated instance was with Identi.ca.

But can't remember what happened to it.

I don't even remember my username.
