Day 3 First Day Cover Challenge
This self imposed challenge to display first day of issue stamps celebrates Murray River Steamers takes some liberties, like I have calling today day 3, if you have followed along.
The steamers recognised are the Canberra, MV Lady Darwin, MV Murray River Queen, and the outsider MV Curl Curl with the Sydney Opera House in the background.
I chose these stamps today thinking of all those battling the floods on Murray River.
The first stamp shows the Echuca wharf towering over the Canberra, when in truth the water line overflowed the wharf.
The Murray was an important feature that helped develop this country.
