I picked up Ashen for £8-ish for the Steamdeck the other day.

I was originally put off by the ‘Souls-like tag’ but after playing several rogue-lites recently, (Children of Morta, Moonlighter, Wizard of Legend,) I gave it a go.

Really nice game! Yes, I’ve died several times already, but I’m treating it as a rogue-like. Plus the combat is fair, I just suck at dodging/blocking.

I like the sparse visuals too.

Bought & played Lost Eidolons today. Wow, what a game! Fully 3D turn-based medieval fantasy rpg, with cinematic attacks, deep strategic combat—enemy armour & terrain needs considering—cool magic, weapon swapping & an interesting story and lore. Even the camp sections have mini quests and interactions that deepen relationships between characters. And it’s very pretty. Only downsides: Fan noise & battery usage.

Highly recommended.
