I forgot I had a #SteamLink ... Taking a while to update though 😅😂

Next phase of the 2014 #MacMini saga: dipping back into the #debian well but this time with #Trixie.

I got #RetroDeck and #SteamLink running well. I am able to get OG xbox games up and running, but they are not really playable. PS2 and below run like a champ.

Well see how long this all last. My main TV does not play well with this set up. I think it is more of a TV issue than the Mac Mini

Never had problems streaming #Steam games from my PC running Arch to my #SteamLink or #SteamDeck. But recently there is no sound anymore. Didn‘t found a solution yesterday and gave up. Don‘t know, what has changed, that it doesn‘t work now.
I guess it has something to do with Pipewire.

How to replace #SteamLink.

Now that I decided that I don't need a #SteamDeck I laid down yesterday, "docked" my phone to a Bluetooth moblie phone game controller, and played some #ChainedEchoes using #SteamLink. It's the next-best thing, and it is enough for me.

My #SteamLink (#FlatHub) worked fine #yesterday on June 28, 2023.

Today, 1 day later, the problems began and I got these IP addresses reported to me as being #unreliable (I you #Google them, including ports, you'll find some results):
* 162.254.196.84:3478
* 162.254.198.104:3478

Also...Steam Link is verified on FlatHub:

The #SteamDeck is not very useful to me right now.

My #usecase depended on the #SteamLink but the software has trouble connecting to the relay servers that make Steam Link work.

Today #SteamLink reported these two IPs being problematic on their end:

* 162.254.198.104:3478

I hope #Valve fixes these issues soon

#SteamLink is #TheOnlyWay I will be using a #SteamDeck.

I never needed a #handheld. I just needed something with #Linux on it that may be kind of "standardized". Not that it will happen with the deck by design.

It will happen just because it's getting popular, no other reason.

#introduction My main way to access my #SteamDeck is to use the #SteamLink #software but right now it doesn't work.

Mouse clicks don't register any more. I can't get out of the fullscreen youtube channel that's playing right now...

DCing and connecting didn't resolve it.

Pressing escape has no effect. I set a keyboard shortcut for opening the menu and at least the deck #reacts when I do it, but not much more than that.

Anyone has or been using a #SteamLink? 😁 I wonder what is your experience

Thinking about the creation of #SteamLink & #SteamDeck made me wonder if @valvesoftware will ever try to "take over the living room"

As a PC gamer that doesn't buy consoles, I would certainly welcome ways of playing my Steam library in my living room for cheap at high resolution
