@chrimbus the #SteamDeck definitely has it's limitations, but there has been great development thus far. #KDE, the steam deck's Desktop Environment, is routinely making vast strides in usability and squashing bugs. As for #Steam's launching game ability, specifically via #steamproton, is problematic, I must concur.

Getting a crash to desktop the second I launch the game. I use a 6600XT. Game ran on my old gtx 1060 but it was on Ubuntu a few months back. Is this an AMD bug? Is this new? I haven't been able to find anyone else having issues lately on Linux.

That awkward moment when you're trying to figure out how to patch FSR into Crysis 3 Remastered... Then you remember that you play on Linux and all you need to do is put:

“WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command%” in the steam launch options 😁

10 days ago I took the plunge and wiped my Windows install, installed #Linux in its place and so far so good. No regrets. #SteamProton is the key - I no longer feel like I need Windows for gaming and 99% of other things I do is online. Last step was getting the wireless printers connected, and it was so much easier than I expected.

When people say that Linux isn't ready for the desktop, I look at them and wonder if they've actually even tried it?
