@polly My current favourite fantasy series is #MalazanBookOfTheFallen. It's military fantasy so might not be everyone's cup of tea. It's dark, occasionally really funny, and really moving.

One of the signatures of #StevenErikson's writing is that he really uses PoV. There are many PoV characters throughout each book, often on different sides of the same conflict which gives it some healthy moral complexity.

So this is the first time we meet the Tiste Liosan, and all four of them suuuck, and nobody else is having it. They get casually roasted by everyone.

OK, so following on to my post yesterday about Steven Erikson, it tweaked a faded, dusty memory I had around the possibility of a Malazan-themed RPG - specifically, the lack thereof of such an animal.

Beyond a few Reddit posts from a few years ago suggesting that one actually authorized by Erikson might be in the works, I don't see anything indicating that such an effort had been advanced.

Does anyone have any idea if a #Malazan #RPG is being progressed by anyone?

Just finished book three of the #malazan series from #stevenerikson. A lot of imaginary facepalming had to be done. Many dialogues felt super weird and out of place and awkward. Not sure if I am going to continue with the following books. At least in the near future I won't. #books
