The Police are my absolute favorite rock band of all time. When I first began playing drums I even played the Stewart Copeland’s Tama kit. He’s maybe the most underrated drummer in the genre.
Fun fact: they only released 5 studio records.
Fun assumption: my friend @markchappelle will not hate me for posting this. In fact, he may agree with me.

Stewart begint te drummen vanaf zijn 12de jaar, als hij in Beiroet aan de American community school les volgt. En is al snel de vaste drummer tijdens schoolvoorstellingen.
In 1967 verhuist Stewart naar Londen en na afstuderen gaat hij aan Berkley University muziek studeren.
Zijn oudste broer, #MilesCopelandIII richt IRS records op. Stewart keert in 1974 terug naar Londen en werkt als roadmanager en drummer bij de band #CurvedAir, al

In 1984 richt hij de band #Primus op.
In 1986 doet hij auditie bij #metalica en speelt Master Of Puppets, hij kreeg als antwoord niet geschikt te zijn omdat hij te goed is.
Goddank anders hadden we de meest schitterende nummers van Primus nooit gekend.
Naast primus is hij ook lid van diverse supergroepen en projecten, zoals #Oysterhead met #StewartCopeland en zijn eigen

Maatschappelijk betrokken bassist en leerkracht basisonderwijs die tijdens zijn opleiding op de bassgitaar leert spelen bij collegaband Earthrise en oa ook in de #NewCastleBigBand.
In 1974 richt hij zijn eerste band #LastExit op die redelijk succesvol zijn, maar in 1976 voegt hij zich bij #ThePolice, een band die drummer #StewartCopeland samenstelt.
In 1982 komt zijn eerste solowerk uit, om in 1985 volledig solo te gaan

@cathitza thx for the #memory jolt. This was one of the only shows I ever rushed home to watch, and the #music was a big part of that. Total pioneer in tv music, shame that #StewartCopeland left that gig after the first season, I believe it was.
