It is heartbreaking to see the world in its current state, burning and on fire. I hope you are safe in France. Hopefully this terrible season will be seen as a wakeup call to really get things moving. Otherwise I don't think society has much of a chance.

On a positive note here is a photo from our recent trip to Western Queensland. The first 2 are on the Balonne River at St George. The other is the vista at Eromanga - home of Cooper the dinosaur. Cooper was a large sauropod, 30m long and 6m high.

Aaah, #StGeorgesDay with the traditional argument with my brother in law. Like Godwins Law but the conversation always somehow turns to Islam. He's very angry with the Muslims for some reason I can't get to the bottom of. Apparently they have a constant & significant impact on his life. He's vaguely asserted that 'they're taking over' and 'there are too many', which is why it's VITALLY IMPORTANT we celebrate St George's Day. How? By having a roast dinner. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🫡

Dragons beware, it's St George's Day today, patron saint of England and here is the dragon-slaying saint himself, as depicted in a stained glass window in St Mark's Church, Millfield in Sunderland.
The glass was produced just down the road from the church by the famous local Hartley Wood Glassworks.

I was looking through the list of rejected Reconnecting Communities applications, and I saw that #StGeorge wants to build an I-15 crossing at either 900 S or 400 E, where there's a 1.3 mile gap between crossings. This would make it easier for folks in the old part of town to get to the river and make it easier for folks southeast of the freeway to get to the high school and downtown. I hope that they can find other sources of funding for the project because it sounds like a good idea.
